Biography
Nick Batchelor has pursued symbiotic careers in Art and Design since 1999. Graduating from QCA with a Bachelor of Fine Art, Honours, in 2003, he co-ran a fashion label (Art Policia) for 3 years, with designs hitting most Australian capital cities and the shores of Japan and Canada. Celebrity spotting found Paris Hilton and Robin Williams enjoying the brand and art and fashion exhibitions were a huge success in the local arena.
In 2007 he then traveled to and lived in the UK for a period of 2 years. Here, Batchelor moved into the position of Art Editor for a London publishing house, responsible for the creative direction of a number of printed and online publications. Residing back on the Gold Coast he has continued his career in design as a designer at Cooper & Westwood Advertising Agency, Digital Designer at Brandhaus and Pluvo, and now runs the successful digital design agency Italics Bold.
Achievements include 2nd prize at the Border Art Prize in 2007, 1st place in the Tertiary Experimental Film Festival in 2002, Triple J Unearthed featured artist in 2007, photographs published in DeskTop magazine in 2008 and photographs published in Not Only Black+White magazine in 2003.
